Urinal Questions
Uric salt sludge is at the root of most urinal problems. This is insoluble in cold water and builds up in the waste trap and pipe work as a deposit that causes blockages. Bacteria multiply around the uric salts as these provide a good nutrient source and releases foul ‘ammonia’ odours within the washroom. In some hard water areas, the problem of uric scale is compounded by lime scale that ‘sticks’ to uric salts and produces harder deposits.
How does the eco-clear system solve these problems?
Our friendly bacteria within the eco-clear Sani-Sleeve produce enzymes that prevent the formation of harmful uric salts by making them soluble in cold water. This allows them to be easily flushed away.
Is the eco-clear system a waterless urinal?
Almost! Our system dramatically reduces water use by over 90% but retains minimal flushing to wash away the dissolved uric salts and clean the urinal bowl surface for hygiene purposes.
How is the eco-clear system different to other urinal products?
The unique patented odour lock design stops bad smells rising from the urinal. In addition, ‘friendly’ bacteria feed on uric salts to keep them soluble for easy extraction by periodic flushing.
Will the eco-clear Sani-Sleeve work with my existing water management system?
Yes, on the condition that flushing can be reduced to less than 10 flushes per day and at regular intervals to allow our bacteria time to work.
Will the eco-clear system work with my sanitising system?
Yes, on the condition that the sanitizer fluid contains no chemicals that damage our friendly bacteria.
Will the eco-clear system fit my existing urinals and pipework?
Yes, the eco-clear Sani-Sleeve connects to all standard UK specification urinal waste traps and pipework.
Will there be much disruption to my washroom when the product is installed?
Minimal, only the urinals will be out of action during installation and the time for completion will vary depending on the ease of access to the urinal cistern and pipework.
Will the eco-clear system save me money?
Yes, significantly reduced water use, chemical use and maintenance charges will reduce your urinal operating costs. In the majority of conversions, the savings will exceed the costs and considerable net savings can be achieved.
Is the eco-clear system difficult to maintain?
No – basic maintenance is to replace the eco-clear Sani-Sleeve regularly - at a minimum of every 3 months, keep the correct frequency of water flushing and avoid using harmful chemicals such as bleach or acids. We can maintain clean and free-flowing urinals for you through our UK network of service technicians who will visit your washrooms on a scheduled service plan.
