eco-beta is a retro-fit device that enables existing WC's with a standard single flush system to be easily converted to a dual flush. Dual flush systems enable users to make a choice between a small flush (using less water) or a large flush (using the full volume of water in the cistern). A small flush can save around 50% of the volume of water in a cistern, which for a standard cistern holding between 7 and 9 litres of water equates to around 4 litres of water saved.
A full flush is only required for solid waste. Water is therefore being unnecessarily wasted when flushing away liquid waste. UK businesses waste over 310 million litres of water every day, 86% of which is a direct result of flushing toilets* - both urinals and WC's.
Will the eco-beta system save me money?
Yes. eco-beta will typically reduce water used for flushing a WC by around 30-40%, therefore reducing the amount of money your business spends on water. The system will typically provide a payback in months, not years.
How does the eco-beta system actually work?
The eco-beta system interrupts the vacuum created when the toilet is flushed. By pressing down the lever and releasing it immediately, a small flush is activated by the interruption of this vacuum. By pressing and holding down the lever, there is no interruption and so the cistern will empty completely.
How does a user know a dual flush is available?
Specially designed stickers are provided with every eco-beta system to alert users to the availability of a small flush. These stickers can be easily adhered to the cistern or wall near the flush handle.
Is the system easy to install?
Yes, the eco-beta system can be easily installed depending on the ease of access to the cistern and pipework. There will be minimal disruption to your washroom.
Does the system require maintenance?
No. Once installed, the system should last forever. We provide a 2 year guarantee on our installations and no service contract is required.
Will the system leave any residual waste in the WC?
Unlike water displacement devices such as cistern bricks, the full flush capacity remains unchanged. The system complies with all regulations, is a WRAS Approved product and passes the small flush testing requirements, therefore no such problems should occur.
What if i don't like the system and want to revert to standard operation?
The system can be disconnected in seconds, without disruption to the WC or washroom.
